IAQ: EVERYWHERE & UNSEEN
What exactly does IAQ refer to? Quality of the Air Within The term "Indoor Air Quality" (IAQ) refers to the air quality both inside and outside of buildings and structures, particularly as it relates to the health and comfort of people who live or work in those facilities.
Because neither the air we breathe indoors nor the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems that are responsible for producing it are visible to us, we rarely give either of these things any thought.
On the other hand, the quality of the air inside a building, often known as the indoor air quality (IAQ), has a direct impact on the health and well-being of the people who dwell in that building.
Research shows that we spend 90% of our time indoors, so your indoor age is 90% of your actual age.
THE AVERAGE PERSON WILL SPEND 66 YEARS INDOORS
We can’t see IAQ. But, if we spend most of our time indoors, making sure the air we breathe is clean and healthy should be an obvious imperative.2 In fact, based on the average lifespan (73 years), we know the average person will spend 66 years of their life indoors. If you consider the fact that we spend most of our time indoors, the need for good IAQ becomes an obvious imperative.
